The Rules of Boating
This document only covers boating from the London Regatta Centre. Curlew Rowing Club has access to the Thames from the Trafalgar Rowing Centre. However this is only permitted with the prior consent of the Club Captain and if the individual(s) can demonstrate that they are fully conversant with the boating rules that apply to the Thames.
Participation
In order to boat with Curlew RC you must be
- in good health or have informed the club of any existing medical conditions that might be aggravated by rowing
- able to swim 100m in light clothing
- able to tread water for 2 minutes
- able to swim underwater for 5m
Weather Conditions
Boating is subject to the following restrictions.
Light Sunrise to sunset
Wind 17mph
Visibility 500m minimum
Water conditions no white horses
Signing out and in
Before boating, all crews must be signed out at the LRC reception desk.
All crews must sign back in on their return
Docks open at 7am.
