Here we are, the final sprint towards the line…the line being Henley Royal Regatta…having done the seat racing, 2k tests and critical coaching assessment. The Met Regatta saw the unveiling of the Curlew 1st VIII, an VIII which will represent Curlew at the forth coming Reading Amateur and Henley Qualifiers.
We entered IM3 – which had a number of Thames Challenge Cup crews – from AK, Dart Totness, Lea and Worcester…there were also a number of rather quick university crews. We failed to final in the IM3, but we were the 2nd quickest Thames Challenge Cup crew within the IM3 category. James Hasler (Men’s 1st VIII coach) was very positive about the race “Curlew is not renowned for rowing through crews, today saw us do that in both races, which shows great fight. We now need to work on not giving the crews a length in the first place.”
