Curlew is a rowing club in East London and is open to all ages and abilities. Although very successful, with crews at Henley for 10 of the last 11 years, we pride ourselves on our friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

Upcoming Events

Docklands Small Boats Head

Curlew will again be entering several boats (including men’s and women’s, coxed and coxless) in the Docklands SBH to be held on our ‘home’ water at the Royal Albert Dock on 2nd November 2008. After previous victories there, Curlew will be looking for some wins to start the season.

Fours Head

Curlew has entered four crews into the Head of the River Fours on the Thames from Mortlake to Putney on 8th November 2008. There are three men’s crews - two S2 coxless fours and an S3 coxed four - and one women's composite quad (with Freya and Cathy from Poplar).

Curlew Christmas Celebration

Curlew Christmas 2008

The nights are drawing in, the weather is getting colder and the races are getting longer. Yes, it’s winter again and that means there’s the one and only, unmissable Curlew Christmas Celebration coming up.

This year will be the farewell dinner for Ray Cassidy and Ann Roberts, for a decade of service to Curlew (with no time off for good behaviour!) Ray will be giving the keynote speech at the dinner and a new award will be inaugurated. Following that we will have short speeches and awards from the squad captains back at the clubhouse, where there’ll be drinking, merriment and maybe even some dancing.
