Sadly Henley Royal Regatta 2021 was not to be, Curlew RC had a great after luncheon slot at 3.15pm against Elizabethan Rowing Club (for those who do not know, they are Westminster School Old Boys), who proved just too powerful for Curlew. This was not surprised considering the elizabethan crew have been rowing together through school and were part of various Princess Elizabeth Crews who got to the semi-final, quarter-final of the event in the previous years. The plan for Curlew – go off hard, and hold on. . . but alas it was not to be. However, qualifying for a club like Curlew is a massive achievement considering the disrupted season that the boys have had. A huge thank you for our Senior Captain Marcus Yarwood who is leaving curlew and moving West…to the West Country, not West London. Marcus has been a true club legend in what has been a really difficult year. For the rest of the crew, we look forward to building around these guys and start 2022 campaign in a positive manner.
